PHOENIX — A man is in custody after a woman was found dead in Phoenix, police said.
On Nov. 22, around 1:05 p.m., officers were sent to the scene near 3rd Avenue and Pima Street for reports of a dead body.
As police arrived, authorities said they found a woman, identified as 66-year-old Lilly Fields. She was dead at the scene.
According to Phoenix police, the initial investigation of the scene revealed elements of a homicide. This was later confirmed by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Phoenix police said they eventually established probable cause to arrest the suspect, identified as 64-year-old Virgil Lindsey.
Lindsey was taken into custody on Dec. 1. He was booked into jail and is facing murder charges. Officials said Lindsey and Fields were intimate partners. Police said that ma
