A Trenton man wanted in a shooting investigation was arrested after police say he fled to Pennsylvania and then crashed his car on Monday night, Dec. 1
Falls Township Police were assisting Trenton Police, who were pursuing a red BMW believed to be involved in a shooting investigation as it crossed into Pennsylvania. The vehicle was lost from view before a passing motorist reported that it had overturned over an embankment near Woolston Drive and Stony Hill Road, police said.
According to police, officers arrived and found the BMW unoccupied, and an AR-15 style rifle was found outside of the car, according to the affidavit.
Police said the driver, Alix Eugene, was found shortly afterward walking along Lincoln Highway. According to the affidavit, Eugene tried to flee through the tunnel that lead to the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Tyburn Road.
Eugene suffered minor injuries in the crash and was treated and released from Saint Mary Medical Center before being taken into custody. He was preliminarily arraigned by Judge Galloway and remanded to Bucks County Prison, according to police.
Trenton Police issued a warrant for Eugene’s arrest, police said.
This is far from Eugene's first run-in with the law. In 2023, he was arrested for hitting 142 mph in a more than eight-mile pursuit from New Jersey to Pennsylvania.
In 2019, he was cited for a minor drug offense that was recalled, then a standoff with another man that led to a two-hour shelter-in-place order in Tinton Falls, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office.
Next, there was a series of thefts or receiving stolen property charges, as well as traffic violations in 2021 and 2022— and on May 5, 2023 he failed to appear in court or pay for his offense of speeding in Asbury Park, according to court records in New Jersey.
