FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - DANA United Steel Workers Local 903 and Meijer donated more than $24,000 in toys to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.
The program provides new clothing and toys to children whose families are facing financial hardship during the holidays, as well as food to families who may otherwise go without.
Part of the donation was $5,000 from Meijer, which the Salvation Army says is “making this partnership a powerful example of community giving.”
“We are very grateful for DANA Local 903 and Meijer’s commitment to making a difference,” said Captain Dena Smith, Corp Officer at The Salvation Army Fort Wayne. “Their generosity will bring smiles to countless children and hope to struggling families this season.”
