TYLER, Texas — An act of kindness can go a long way — and at one Tyler restaurant, a group of more than 50 men turned a simple brunch into something much bigger, leaving a generous surprise for their server.

Each man in the group brought $100 — enough to cover their meals at III Palms, with the rest passed on as a blessing for the server. They say the effort has grown into a yearly tradition and this year, even 25 men who couldn’t attend still donated, helping make the impact even stronger.

Dustin Glover, president of Threlkeld & Company Insurance, said he hopes the tradition inspires others to give — not just during the holidays, but year-round.
