TOWN OF OSWEGATCHIE, New York (WWNY) - A $21 million upgrade to the Ogdensburg International Airport is complete, and officials gathered Tuesday to celebrate.

It’s the biggest investment the facility has seen.

“We hope to have people come and use the airport and really have a great experience,” said Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority Executive Director Steve Lawrence.

The ceremony was held inside the ‘Great Room,’ a new addition that doubles the airport’s interior space and will primarily be used to host community events.

“It could be weddings, could be anything, trade shows, arts and crafts festivals, things like that. What we want is for it to be a community asset that they’ll use,” said OBPA Director of Economic Development Anthony Adamczyk.
