LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Across Kentucky and southern Indiana, communities woke up Tuesday morning to find inches of snow blanketing the ground.
Late Monday, a winter weather system rolled through Kentuckiana bringing cold temperatures and snow with it.
In Louisville, the Metro set a new daily record snowfall amount.
The Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville recorded 4.7 inches of snow, which is the most snowfall in the city on Dec. 2 since 2000.
Some parts of southern Indiana saw similar snowfall totals, like in Henryville where 4.2 inches of snow were recorded.
