The New York Yankees are expected to be without Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodón to start the year. Brian Cashman has mentioned the Yankees need to make it through the early part of the season without those two.
Ryan Yarbrough could play a role in the Yankees' plans early on, but there are still free agents available who can help the Yankees. The Yankees may not want to spend on a frontline starter, already having Cole, Max Fried, Carlos Rodón, Cam Schlittler and Luis Gil. However, NorthJersey.com's Pete Caldera predicted the Yankees would sign Justin Verlander.
Verlander is a future Hall of Famer and is nearing the end of the line. The 42-year-old still has some innings left in the tank and can still be a solid addition to any staff. Last season, he made 29 starts and posted a 2.85 ERA. H
