A 15-year-old died from a gunshot wound Dec. 2, following a shooting on Nov. 30 in Newport News, according to a news release from Newport News Police Department.

On Nov. 30 at about 8:30 p.m., Newport News police officers responded to call of gunshots fired in the 700 block of Lance Drive, which contains single family homes. When police officers arrived, they found a juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound and he was then transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police did not release any information regarding the identity of anyone involved.
