GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI – On a Saturday afternoon in July, a family stopped at a Walmart in Northern Michigan to purchase sidewalk chalk.
The family was at the Walmart store in Garfield Township, just outside Traverse City, when chaos unfolded on July 26. Eleven people were stabbed in just two minutes.
Aaron Boudot , 41, was among them. He was stabbed multiple times and nearly died, his attorneys said during a news conference on Tuesday. Boudot had placed himself between his family and the assailant who had already stabbed eight people.
“I said my goodbyes to my family while bleeding out on the Walmart floor because I didn’t think I was going to make it,” Boudot said in a statement. 17
