WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - It’s that time of the year when families go to pick out a Christmas tree.
The Christmas Tree Farmers Association of New York says the state produces 295,000 Christmas trees each year, generating direct tree sales of $13.8 million.
The association says buying a real Christmas tree stimulates local economies as farmers purchase supplies and equipment locally and hire additional employees during the winter season.
