Syracuse-area viewers expecting a smooth transition to CBS’ new home, WKOF (formerly WTVH), have instead spent the week troubleshooting blank screens, inaccurate channel guides and mysteriously missing listings.

The station’s call-letter and channel realignment , which took effect Dec. 1, was intended to be invisible to consumers. However, CNY Central said Monday afternoon it is aware of issues for Verizon FiOS and Spectrum customers who are unable to access its CBS programming on WKOF, or can’t find it in the channel guide.

Engineers are working on a solution, but for viewers who don’t want to wait to watch their local CBS programming, including NFL games and shows like “Survivor,” “NCIS” and “The Amazing Race,” there are reliable streaming alternatives available.
