The only silver lining of a dreary New Orleans Saints season is that it might result in one of the franchise’s highest ever draft picks next spring.
The Saints’ current 2-10 record would give them the No. 3 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, behind only the Tennessee Titans (1-11) and New York Giants
(2-11) in a system that works in the reverse order of the standings.
The Las Vegas Raiders are also 2-10, but the Saints win the tiebreaker for the higher pick because their record has come against a softer schedule (.502 opposing winning percentage to the Raiders’ .556).
In fact, the Saints’ opposing winning percentage would give them the tiebreaker over most teams currently picking in the top 10. That includes the Titans and Giants.
