A Sarnia man has been jailed for four months for causing a fire near local train tracks this spring.
In a Sarnia courtroom recently, Justice Krista Lynn Leszczynski told Elijah the fire was particularly serious.
“Specifically due to the risk that it has to cause damage or harm to surrounding property and certainly to people who may be in that vicinity,” she said.
Sarnia police called to the CN Rail tracks at the end of Brock Street South May 12 found an area that had caught fire, apparently where a homeless person was staying, court heard. A witness told police a man in a red-and-white-striped jacket had left before they arrived.
