JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ky. —

Even though Jefferson County Public Schools operated on its first non-traditional instruction (NTI) day of the school year, many families still found time to enjoy the snow.

Most students wrapped up their online work early enough to head out to Cherokee Park to enjoy one popular sledding destination.

Kevin Canterbury and his children spent their afternoon sledding at Cherokee Park, but their morning was all about school.

"As a parent, NTI is always interesting, but I’m glad I have a pretty flexible job," Canterbury said. "So I'm home and doing work remotely while also helping them with their NTI work at the same time."
