Tanzanian president: Force against civilians is ‘proportional’ to threat

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan defended her government’s use of force used against civilians on Tuesday. It is believed hundreds of civilians died due to violence during protests after the country’s disputed October election, but the president said the force used was “proportional” to the threat.
