CINCINNATI —
Tuesday marked the last day of the temporary injunction that blocked Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s ban on intoxicating hemp products.
In October, Ohio retailers would have been required to remove intoxicating hemp products from shelves and cease all sales or be subject to a fine. Advertisement
However, a Franklin County judge ruled that sales could continue after issuing the injunction, which was later extended through Dec. 2.
The developments come as lawmakers work on new regulations and business owners in Ohio hope for a compromise.
DeWine said the order does not apply to non-intoxicating hemp products or legal marijuana sold in licensed dispensaries. He says the orders are specifically aimed at synthetic and intoxicating hemp products that are "simply dangerous."
