MAHNOMEN, Minn. — The Moorhead Fire Department’s hazardous response team responded to a fire in a lab at a cannabis dispensary on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2.

The Mahnomen County Sheriff's Department said the fire involved chemicals.

The fire was reported at the Waabigwan Mashkiki Cannabis dispensary in Mahnomen, off U.S. Highway 59.

The White Earth Tribal Police Department is asking people to avoid the area. Officials evacuated everything within 300 yards of the nearest intersection. The evacuation order now only applies to the parking lot there, and Highway 59 is back open.

Jefferson Avenue from the railroad tracks to Highway 59 was still closed late Tuesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the fire.

The Boys and Girls Club of White Earth closed Tuesday because of the fire.
