Until recently, I hadn’t fully appreciated how much dogs depend on their routines. Most follow the expected rhythm of meals, walks, and naps. Every now and then, though, a dog invents a habit so unexpectedly amusing that it leaves you laughing out loud.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed plenty of eccentric canine quirks. There’s even a dog in my neighborhood who sprints back and forth across an empty street for no obvious reason. It might baffle humans, but clearly, it’s one of his favorite activities.

That is the delight of dogs: their peculiar little behaviors might puzzle us, yet they carry real meaning for them. And occasionally, those habits are outright hilarious.
