Car fire occurs in front of Morton’s Grundy School during the end of the school day

MORTON, Ill. – There were no reported injuries after a car fire Tuesday afternoon in front of Morton’s Grundy School.

In a statement from Morton District 709, the fire occurred just after 2:45 P.M. in the pick-up lane, as students were being let out for the day.

Staff and Challenge Students were moved to the District Office across the street from Grundy, as well as bus riders and students awaiting pick-up.

The district thanked Morton Fire, Police, its Transportation Team, and Grundy Leadership and Staff for the quick response.
