TOLEDO, Ohio — A plan to improve or replace dozens of Toledo sidewalks by May 1 of next year is in motion after city council approved it Monday's meeting.
The work is expected to begin in the spring, Christy Soncrant, the commissioner of the city's engineering and construction management department, told WTOL 11 last month.
Various factors will affect who pays the price of each fix, though. There are more than 50 streets listed for the project, according to a city document .
The city will pay for repairs at intersections and pedestrian curb ramps, which is expected to cost $500,000, as well as sidewalks impacted by trees. Homeowners will pay the bills otherwise.
