Santa will be attending the Santa Maria Christmas Parade of Lights Saturday, and he wants you to be there too.
“This is the perfect year to join the holiday fun… Bundle up, bring your holiday cheer, and experience the joy and togetherness that make this event so special,” the big jolly guy said this week, via his elves.
Saturday's parade gets underway at 5:20 p.m. Saturday with 103 entries — Santa's float, escorted by the Santa Maria Fire Department, will be the last on the parade route.
Organized by the Rotary Clubs of Santa Maria and Nipomo, the parade will start at Stowell Road and Broadway and travel north toward Main Street, following a slightly shorter route this year due to ongoing redevelopment at the former Sears site.
