LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — An assistant who worked for a couple accused of running fraudulent medical clinics has accepted a plea deal, admitting to taking part in a conspiracy to promote and sell drugs not approved for humans.
Janmarie Lanzo made more than half a million dollars as part of the scheme, according to court documents.
The case against Lanzo dates back to June . Authorities say she worked with Mary Blakley and her husband, Fred, who operated medical clinics, most recently in Lake Havasu City.
Fake technology claims
Court documents show Mary claimed her so-called smart chip technology and full-body ultrasound could diagnose medical conditions.
“We encourage everyone, use ultrasound,” Mary Blakley said in a video.
