A wintry mix has moved out, but the temperatures are dropping across Connecticut. The big focus now is the icy conditions, especially on the roads.

As cars made their way through Route 6 in Bristol, drivers had to navigate through wet conditions.

“State roads are good. Side roads are a little sloppy,” Mark Marut, of Farmington, said.

Marut said the mix of rain and snow made it difficult to get around but was happy to see Route 6 fully plowed.

“You’ve got to be more careful settling with the sloppy stuff. The snow and the salt. They do a pretty good job with that. Overall, I’d rather be driving snow than slop,” he said.

And it was a similar scene on Route 44 in Avon, but on any road with standing water, overnight
