Republican Matt Van Epps will serve as the representative for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, filling the seat vacated by former Rep. Mark Green.

The Associated Press called the race for Van Epps at 9:45 p.m. after the polls closed at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Van Epps had a 9-point lead over Democrat Aftyn Behn with 95% of the votes counted at the time the race was called.
