On Nov. 8, the multi-denominational women’s group Sister ACTS showed their support & generosity for the Berkeley County Humane Society (BCHS) as they learned about the mission of this local nonprofit at their monthly meeting, held at Calvary United Methodist Church.
Brandi Bender, the manager of the BCHS, shared that their mission is to promote humane treatment and safe placement for homeless and unwanted dogs and cats in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia with special emphasis on Berkeley County.They maintain a shelter for stray and owner-relinquished animals, & make every reasonable effort to find caring homes for animals entrusted to their care. She also told the members of a new concept at the shelter called “Doggie Day Out” & how it has promoted their adoption program.
