GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting that killed a 33-year-old man on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro on Tuesday night.
According to police, officers responded to the 1700 block of Battleground Avenue at 9:52 p.m. after receiving a call about a firearm discharge. When they arrived on scene, officers found Robert Lamont King Jr. in a car with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
King died of his injuries at the scene, police said.
This all happened in the area where Battleground Ave merges with Lawndale Drive, along the busy stretch of shops, bars, and restaurants. A witness told WFMY News 2 there was a shooting in the parking lot, and it did not happen inside any of the businesses.
No other information, including suspect information, has been released.
