LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -Next February, Rodney Minzel will celebrate three years of sobriety. That milestone comes not all that long after the three-year anniversary of when he first started learning to ride BMX at the NoWear compound in Unadilla.

If you ask him, that’s no coincidence.

“I wouldn’t be able to stay sober if not for this place,” Minzel said. “I wouldn’t have been able to get sober if not for this place. Just in three years I went from not riding a bike at all to working my way up and now I perform with a team.”

Minzel is one of many who the nonprofit, free to the public BMX park has helped discover themselves through discovering what they can do on wheels.
