Equine Herpesvirus outbreak spreads across North America, interrupting major events and impacting Arkansas trainer

An active and rapidly expanding outbreak of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1) is disrupting the equine industry across the United States and Canada, after being traced back to a Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) event held in November 2025 in Waco, Texas.
