Brits face travel disruption this morning as dense fog is set to blanket parts of the country.

The Met Office has a weather warning in place for the fog, which forecasters say will linger until around 10am. The alert covers several regions, though the fog is likely to be heaviest across the Midlands and the Home Counties.

The weather agency's website reads: "Fog patches, mainly in rural areas and dense with visibility less than 100 metres in places, should slowly lift and clear this morning... Slower journey times with delays to bus and train services [are expected]. Delays or cancellations to flights [are expected]."
