LEXINGTON, Ky. —
It was a battle of the blue bloods at Rupp Arena Tuesday night, as No. 18 Kentucky hosted No. 16 North Carolina in the ACC/SEC Challenge.
Both teams were quick to get on the board, but Kentucky would go on a six-point run to make it 10-4 five into the first half.
The Tarheels were quick to make up ground, taking the lead after Derek Dixon knocked down a jumper. It would be back and forth between the two squads from there on out.
Things were tied at 31 heading into halftime.
Kentucky was shooting 50% from the field at halftime, but were 0-8 from behind the arc. The Wildcats relied on scoring down low in the first half, scoring 28 points in the paint.
An alley-oop to Otega Oweh opened the second half for Kentucky, with Denzel Aberdeen knocking down a pair of free throw
