New Delhi, Dec 3: Vote-counting for the bypolls in 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was completed on Tuesday. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the biggest winner with seven seats. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured three, while Indian National Congress and All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) each won one seat.
From the BJP, victories came in wards including Dwarka, Vinod Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Greater Kailash, Dhichaon Kalan, Shalimar Bagh and Chandni Chowk, through candidates Manisha Devi, Sarla Chaudhari, Veena Asija, Anjum Mandal, Rekha Rani, Anita Jain and Suman Kumar Gupta respectively. AAP’s wins were recorded in Naraina, Mundka and Dakshin Puri, while Congress won Sangam Vihar and AIFB clinched Chandni Mahal.
