Thyolo District Council has confirmed the death of Councillor Elisha Joel Milanzi of Muonekera Ward in Goliati Constituency, who passed away yesterday in a road accident.

Milanzi was riding his motorbike home after attending a Full Council meeting when the fatal incident occurred.

Outgoing Thyolo District Commissioner Hudson Kuphanga extended his condolences, noting that the loss is deeply felt across the district.

“He was a dedicated and active representative for the people of Muonekera Ward, and his contributions to the development of Thyolo will be greatly missed,” Kuphanga said.

The Council emphasized that Milanzi’s death is a significant setback, describing him as a committed leader who consistently worked to uplift his community.
