According to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle Tuesday night an NBA source said the 69-year-old "is always interested in looking into new opportunities" and purchasing the Padres may be an opportunity he could explore.
Lacob owns the Warriors as well as the WNBA's Golden State Valkyries. Stephen Curry and the Warriors have won four titles under Lacob's guidance. He also owned the Celtics when they claimed the Larry O'Brien Trophy in 2008.
According to the report Lacob has pursued MLB teams in the past. He put forth a failed bid for the A's two decades ago, and expressed interest in the Angels in 2022.
