The UK snow bomb has been upgraded to "a 30 hour blizzard" with maps and charts turning white, grey and PURPLE - signifying heavy snowfall. The white stuff is likely to strike ahead of Christmas in mid-December.

Maps from WX Charts, using Met Desk dara, show snow in Scotland and northern England at around 6am on December 11. The snow will make landfall on December 11, before lingering into December 12.

Snow is expected in Glasgow, the Highlands and swathes of Scotland, with northern counties also likely to receive a dusting as the Arctic mass of air makes its gradual way down south.
