CLEVELAND, Ohio — When St. Xavier and Olentangy Orange take the field at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium on Friday at 7:30 p.m., it will be a tale of two histories.
The trip to the Division I state championship game will be the eighth for St. Xavier, which has won four state titles, while Orange is making its first appearance in the season’s final game.
Orange is trying to cap a perfect season, entering the state championship game at 14-0, which includes a 28-0 win over St. Edward in last week’s state semifinals. The Pioneers are not going to enter the game complacent after picking up their first state semifinal victory.
