Central Vermont Medical Center is demolishing a long-vacant building this December.

The demolition of Medical Office Building D at 266 Hospital Loop Road in Berlin is expected to take three to four weeks and involve heavy equipment and utility work, according to an announcement from the hospital.

The 8,000-square-foot building, constructed in 1968, has been vacant since late 2022. Hospital finance, accounting and human resources teams from the building relocated to leased space off hospital grounds at that time.

The project marks the beginning of a new round of facilities planning for the hospital, which will revisit its master facilities plan in 2026, the announcement said.
