Billy Joel's home just got another price cut.

The Centre Island estate is now on the market for $25 million, after previously holding a $29.9 million price tag in May.

Part of the estate was sold around that time — the sale of Joel's five-bedroom, four-bathroom gate house closed in May for $7 million, Newsday reported .

"In order for us to keep the place at the top of the marketplace, especially the luxury market, we're making this slight adjustment," said Emmett Laffey, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Laffey International Realty.

The gate house was sold to "another North Shore family that desired a waterfront," Laffey said. Selling the estate in pieces like this was key in "unlocking the value" of the property, because that was the way Joel purchased the land, he added.
