CARBON COUNTY, Pa. — It's one of the busiest times of the year at Yenser's Tree Farm near Lehighton. While many of these Christmas trees will end up in homes all throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, hundreds of them will be donated to members of the military. It's called Trees for Troops.
"It's a nationwide program that donates trees to military families at different bases across the country," Jan Wentz said.
This is the 21st year for Trees for Troops, which provides Christmas trees to members of the military, free of charge.
"Guests can stop by and purchase a tree for $30. And then that gets loaded onto a FedEx truck. This year our trees are going to Ft. Stewart in Georgia," Jan Wentz said.
