A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 5:40 a.m. for black ice until 9 a.m. for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester, Suffolk and Nassau counties.

"Patchy black ice is possible this morning as temperatures are right around freezing and roads are still wet from yesterday's precipitation. Conditions will improve later this morning as temperatures rise into the mid and upper 30s. Motorists and pedestrians should use caution. Reduce speed, allow extra time, and be prepared for areas of slippery travel," states the weather service.
