Three Ghostbusters films have followed the 1989 release of Ghostbusters 2, and none of them answered a very simple question: what happened to Oscar, the son of Sigourney Weaver’s character, Dana Barrett? Films like 2016’s Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife , and 2024’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire have each given us updates on characters from the franchise, but there’s never been anything about Oscar.
