NEW BEDFORD — The downtown scene is feeling extra festive this holiday season, with the arrival of a very special guest: a North Pole Elf named Moby, who is spending the next few weeks exploring the city’s most-popular landmarks leading up to Christmas.
Jonathan Darling, the city’s public information officer, confirmed that the elf’s trip was inspired and coordinated by the mayor’s office.
Upon arriving to New Bedford on Monday, Dec. 1, Moby said he is happy to be here after friends at the North Pole told him all about the city. "They say New Bedford is beautiful, full of holiday spirit and all the children are on the nice list," the elf wrote in a message posted in a photo on the official City of New Bedford Facebook page.
