A Lehigh Valley breast pump seller agreed to a $1 million settlement with federal authorities over claims the company inflated its bills.

The Breastfeeding Shop in Emmaus and its owner, Patricia Gatter, agreed to settle the case involving sales of breast pumps through the federal TRICARE program, according to a news release Monday from the U.S. Attorney’s office.

The settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing. It’s an agreement to resolve the allegations without further legal proceedings.

Gatter said the program’s guidelines were confusing and her company “denies engaging in any unlawful conduct and maintains that its billing practices have always complied with all applicable laws.”
