The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday won seven of the twelve wards in the bye-elections for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
The polls took place on Sunday.
The BJP won in Ashok Vihar, Chandni Chowk, Dwarka-B, Dichaon Kalan, Greater Kailash, Shalimar Bagh-B and Vinod Nagar.
The Opposition Aam Aadmi Party won three wards: Dakshin Puri, Mundka and Naraina.
The Congress won the Sangam Vihar-A war while the Chandani Mahal ward was won by the All India Forward Bloc.
BJP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Hindutva party’s victory was a “ strong testament to the tireless hard work, dedication and collective strength of our diligent workers and the organisation”.
