DAGSBORO – Darnell Stokes had been waiting a long time for this moment.

So at 7 a.m. sharp on the morning of Dec. 3, the first day high school players are allowed to sign agreements with college football teams, he sent in the paperwork to play at Syracuse.

Just 30 minutes later, the Indian River star was in the Indians’ gym, celebrating his signing with family, coaches, teammates and classmates.
