A woman believed to be one of the first in Maricopa County to be charged with selling fentanyl that led to a person’s death accepted a plea deal that would significantly reduce her potential prison sentence.

Mesa police arrested Cruzita Leon, who is now 35, on March 26 and booked her into jail on multiple felony charges, including “sale of lethal fentanyl,” which went into effect in November 2024.
