A British high street homeware chain which shuttered its stores and laid off its employees has been saved in a dramatic rescue deal. Home interiors brand Fired Earth collapsed into administration last month, axing 133 of its employees along with 26 shops.
Tile retailer Topps Tiles has now purchased the company’s name, online business and around £2.5 million worth of stock - with the deal being labelled a “significant opportunity”.
Topps said the brand will enhance its digital and upmarket offering and outgoing CEO Rob Parker hailed the buy as a “strong result” in his final year at the company.
