MANHATTAN, Kansas — Former North Dakota State football head coach Chris Klieman is retiring from his job at Kansas State, according to media reports Wednesday.
The Manhattan Mercury newspaper first reported the news.
Klieman will be replaced by Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein, a former Kansas State star quarterback and former OC with the Wildcats.
Klieman, 58, took over Kansas State in 2019 after a successful tenure at NDSU. He went 54-34 with the Wildcats and won the Big 12 in 2022. He is 126-47 overall as a head coach.
Klieman replaced Craig Bohl as NDSU's head coach for the 2014 season. He led the Bison to four Football Championship Subdivision national titles before being hired by former NDSU athletic director Gene Taylor at Kansas State. Klieman went 69-6 in five seas
