Ozzy Osbourne was today posthumously awarded one of Birmingham's highest civic honours in a private ceremony at the Council House.

The Black Sabbath singer's daughter Kelly was in Birmingham to collect the award on what would have been her father's 77th birthday and showed BirminghamLive the letter her dad sent the mayor three weeks before he died.

It it, Ozzy shared his struggles and his thanks to the city of Birmingham.

In the mayor's office, Kelly showed the letter her dad had sent to The Lord Mayor, Coun Zafar Iqbal on July 1, 2025, from his base at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield .

Ozzy died on July 22, 2025 following a sold-out final performance at Villa Park
