PAWTUCKET – No decisions have been made yet on closing specific schools, officials said during a Nov. 25 School Committee meeting, but all options will be on the table.

An ad hoc redistricting committee has yet to meet, said member Joanne Bonollo, who’s leading the effort, and this committee will keep everyone involved as they proceed.

It’s clear that the district needs changes, she said, now down to 7,000 students compared to the 10,000 in city schools when she started on the committee. The number of buildings has remained the same despite that drop, she added, and the redistricting effort will determine what can be done on that front to put students in buildings that the city and its schools can afford.
