Bill Belichick now has a foot in the door, as everyone knew he would, and the only step left is the formality of voting him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame announced at 10:30 a.m. today that Belichick is the finalist in the coach category to be part of the Hall’s Class of 2026.
Belichick didn’t strike many people as a possible Hall of Famer when he left the Browns in 1995 with a five-year record of 36-44. He is an obvious one based on winning six Super Bowls in his 18-year run with the Patriots. His overall record stands at 302-165 in the regular season and 31-13 in the postseason.
Belichick piloted the Patriots to nine Super Bowls, the last of them capping the 2018 season. He was with the team through the 2023 campaign, and spent 2025 as a college head coach at N
